Welcome
Our research focuses on developing and applying computational approaches to study Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) regarding their molecular biophysics and interaction pathways on the systems level. The long-term goal is to 1) understand disease mechanisms by exploiting the predicted PPI networks, and 2) narrow down key proteins and target them for mutation design, vaccine development, or drug discovery. We are particularly interested in Host-Pathogen Interactions and epigenetics. Our lab is part of the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in the School of Medicine, the first medical school in Texas and the nation’s first public medical school and hospital under unified leadership. We are also associated with Sealy Center for Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics at UTMB.
