Hardware

The SCSB Computing facilities consists a multi-node compute cluster and distributed data storage, as well as, workstations that are located on the 6th floor of the Basic Science Building and the 5th floor of Research 6 Building. The resources are made available to all Center members.

Computing Cluster - T-rex

T-rex is a computing cluster shared among SCSB researchers intended for general computing. It consists of a login node, four computing nodes and a file server. All four computing nodes have 128 GB of RAM, two hexa-core Intel Xeon CPUs, and Nvidia GPUs, capable of performing heterogenous calculations. Job submission and scheduling is handled by SLURM.

File Storage - Farm

The file server (Farm) is a JBOD and has thirty-two 4-TB hard disks running ZFS. It forms four RAID-Z1 file systems with redundancy against data loss. They are availble as scratch and backup file systems for T-rex, and also host the database for Cryo-EM.

Windows Server - Rosalyn

Rosalyn is an Intel i7 workstation with 32 GB RAM running Windows 2008R2. It allows remote connection for SCSBMB researchers to run Windows software when needed.

Software Server - Sc

Sc is an Intel i7 workstation running Fedora. It hosts many scientific software and NFS exports them to computers in different SCSBMB laboratories.
