About SCSB

The mission of the Sealy Center for Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics (SCSB) is to elucidate the basic relationships between macromolecular sequence, structure and function, and to leverage this information into the understanding and treatment of disease. This mission is pursued through a three-fold strategy that involves:

  • Conducting basic research in the fields of structural, physical, and quantitative biology.
  • Training investigators in molecular biophysics, and structural and computational biology.
  • Partnering with complementary research efforts on campus to foster mutual scientific goals and to build translational research programs.
